It starts with a Dream!
For those of you who have been with me for a while, will know that I really believe that dreaming is a really important component in achieving the life you deserve and desire.
Visualization is extremely powerful, it brings clarity, passion, belief all together. One of the first things I do with my coaching clients, is to have them visualize what they want in 5, 10, etc years.
They normally start off uncertain and then slowly the words and ideas start to flow, they start to smile and their body relax as they become more immersed in their thoughts and feelings.
It is wonderful to watch, as they allow themselves to see, feel and understand what they truly want for their lives (career, romance, business etc)
What are you dreaming about? Do you want it to be a reality or just a dream? Believe that it will be a reality!
If you want it to be a reality, what one thing can you do tomorrow, to get you closer to the dream? It can be something small, e.g. make a call, do some research, put your ideas down on paper, create your vision board etc.
Do something, take the first step!
I was sent this great video last week, so I wanted to share it with you. Enjoy!

It's YOUR Race - So set your pace and get going!
How are you today?
Received this great quote from a dear friend and business associate, Claudine Struck:
'Life is not a race against other people. It is a one man race. You determine the destination, the route, the time limits and the prize. We are all running a different race.'
The whole concept for my book, 'The Amazing Race to Entrepreneurial Freedom', is that you are racing/moving towards your own goal(s), not competing against anyone else.
What beliefs are holding you back right now - FEAR of failure, success, embarrassment, security? How is this fear standing in your way of the amazing life you desire and deserve?
Imagine yourself at the end of your amazing race, what would your life be like, how would you feel, what do you see around you, how different would your life be? Hold this vision, thoughts, feelings, put yourself there in the future and then decide on your next step and commit to making that step by Friday.
It does matter where you are on your journey, dreaming/idea stage; at the starting line; part way through or nearing the finish line? Wherever you are what one action can you take by the end of the week, to move you closer to your goal?
It's all for the taking, you just have to tap into your passion, vision, empowering beliefs, commitment to your action and then ACT!
Get moving...I am here to support you!

Let it go, before it causes you stress and strain!
I wanted to share this with you.
'A professor begins his class by holding up a glass with some water in it for all to see. He asks the students, "How much do you think this glass weighs?"
'50gms!' '100gms!' '125gms' students answer.
1.3393757096
"I don't know unless I weigh it," the professor replies, "but, my question is:
What happens if I hold it up like this for a few minutes?"
'Nothing' ...the students say.
'What happens if I hold it up like this for an hour?' the professor asks.
'Your arm will begin to ache' says one student.
"You're right. What happens if I hold it for a day?"
"Your arm may go numb, you may get severe muscle stress & paralysis & have to go to the hospital!"
ventures another student. The other students laugh.
"Very good," the professor says. "But during all this, would the weight of the glass change?"
'No' they all reply.
"Then what causes the arm ache & the muscle stress?"
The students are puzzled.
"What could I do to relieve the pain?" asks professor.
"Put the glass down!" yells one student.
"Exactly!" says the professor.
"Life's problems go something like this: Hold them for a few minutes in your head & they seem OK. Think of them for a long time & they begin to ache. Hold them even longer & they begin to paralyze you. You will unable to do anything."
"It's important to think of the challenges or problems in your life, but EVEN MORE IMPORTANT is to 'PUT THEM DOWN' at the end of every day before you go to sleep!"
"That way, you are stress free, you wake up every day fresh & strong, able to handle any issue, any challenges that comes your way. So, when you leave office today...Remember my friends...
PUT THE GLASS DOWN!"
I have had quite a few revelations in the pass few weeks and one of the things I have to put down is 'control'. Trying to control situations is actually stopping me from completing my amazing race!
What do you need to put down, RIGHT NOW, to continue on your amazing race?

What resources do you have, that can help to move you forward?
I just read this and loved it!!
Quote of the day: 'Whatever you give a woman, she will make greater. If you give her sperm, she'll give you a baby. If you give her a house, she'll give you a home. If you give her groceries, she'll give you a meal. If you give her a smile, she'll give you her heart. She multiplies and enlarges what is given to her.'
To keep moving in your amazing race, you need to be resourceful!
I decided today, to re look at my marketing strategy, I buy books all the time. More than I can read at the moment!! Anyway, I decided to pull a few books off the shelves to see what other ideas I could incorporate.
My book The Amazing Race to Entrepreneurial Freedom has great ideas too - plug plug!!:)
I really believe that no one has all the answers, therefore I suggest that you use what is available to you, to move you forward and build your knowledge bank.
What can you use around you to put to good use to move you closer to your dream?

What is Wisdom?
How are you today?
I was exercising with my dear friend Margaret last week and swapping stories of things that had happened or were happening to us. We commented on how rich the conversation was.
After I pondered on our conversations and thought how wise we were. I then thought...what makes us wise? What enables us to have wisdom?
This is my thought -
'The combination of knowledge, experience, internalising the learnings and understanding the overall meaning of what occurred and why it occurred.' This is what wisdom is to me.
What wisdom have you acquired that you can put to use on your amazing race?

Power of Collaboration
How are you?
I just wanted to share a few things with you today.
My dear friend Hueina Su, had a book launch this Thursday and became a best selling author on Amazon in 2 categories!!!Intensive Care for the Nurturer's Soul hit #1 on Amazon in Home and Community Health, #1 in Home and Community Care. She is so excited.
Congratulations Hueina!
What enabled Hueina to accomplish this great achievement was not only writing an amazing book, but also realising that in order to reach her goal, she needs help/collaboration from others.
Many times when we are faced with a challenge/goal etc, we feel that we must go it alone. This is not necessary. We have so much support friends, family, colleagues, teachers, coaches, neighbours etc, that we can tap into. But most of the time, we do not ask!
Fear of rejection, fear of looking desperate and vulnerable can stop us from asking, but these fears also can stop us from achieving!
Years ago that was how I lived my life, not asking anyone for help or guidance. I was tough, could not show vulnerability!
But thank God, through my quest of self discovery, being coached, etc I have let go of those fears and am able to ask for help, guidance, direction, support etc and life has become so much easier!
I was talking to a coaching colleague the other day and he said something I want to share.....'The more vulnerable I am, the stronger I become!' Oh how true!
The other day, I was struggling with something and I shared my thoughts with two colleagues, I decided to be 'naked' in front of them (i.e not literally, but shared my thoughts and frustrations- just in case you had visions of me naked in the office) and one of them helped me to see new perspectives.
When he left the room, the other person I was with, got up and kissed my cheek and said with tears in her eyes, she said 'thank you for sharing, I needed to hear what you said and you have really helped me!'
In a coaching session with a client last week, a client shared that she was going through a tough time personally and needed more support from her husband. Normally she would do everything herself (Super mum!), but she NEEDED help! So she asked! and guess what happened? Her husband is helping! Should he have helped without her asking, maybe. But that is not the point here. She asked and she received!
The points I am making are: if you need help on your Amazing Race to Entrepreneurial Freedom, A more fulfilling career, a happier life, whatever your Amazing Race is.....you do not have to do it alone. The help you need is right there, you just have to ask!
So who will you ask, this week to help you on your Amazing Race?

Universal Laws
I hope you are having an amazing weekend.
I just received this email and it made me laugh.
So, I thought I would put a smile on your face and I also thought you would be able to relate!
Have an AMAZING Week.
Bye for now!
UNIVERSAL LAWS
1. Law of Mechanical Repair - After your hands become coated with grease, your nose will begin to itch and you'll have to pee.
2. Law of Gravity - Any tool, nut, bolt, screw, when dropped, will roll to the least accessible corner.
3. Law of Probability -The probability of being watched is directly proportional to the stupidity of your act
4. Law of Random Numbers - If you dial a wrong number, you never get a busy signal and someone always answers.
5. Law of the Alibi - If you tell the boss you were late for work because you had a flat tire, the very next morning you will have a flat tire.
6. Variation Law - If you change lines (or traffic lanes), the one you were in will always move faster than the one you are in now (works every time).
7. Law of the Bath - When the body is fully immersed in water, the telephone rings.
8. Law of Close Encounters -The probability of meeting someone you know increases dramatically when you are with someone you don't want to be seen with.
9. Law of the Result - When you try to prove to someone that a machine won't work, it will.
10. Law of Biomechanics - The severity of the itch is inversely proportional to the reach.
11.. Law of the Theater and Hockey Arena - At any event, the people whose seats are furthest from the aisle, always arrive last. They are the ones who will leave their seats several times to go for food, beer, or the toilet and who leave early before the end of the performance or the game is over. The folks in the aisle seats come early, never move once, have long gangly legs or big bellies, and stay to the bitter end of the performance. The aisle people also are very surly folk.
12. The Coffee Law - As soon as you sit down to a cup of hot coffee, your boss will ask you to do something which will last until the coffee is cold.
13. Murphy's Law of Lockers - If there are only two people in a locker room, they will have adjacent lockers.
14. Law of Physical Surfaces - The chances of an open-faced jelly sandwich landing face down on a floor, are directly correlated to the newness and cost of the carpet or rug.
15. Law of Logical Argument - Anything is possible if you don't know what you are talking about.
16. Brown's Law of Physical Appearance - If the clothes fit, they're ugly.
17. Oliver's Law of Public Speaking - A closed mouth gathers no feet.
18. Wilson's Law of Commercial Marketing Strategy - As soon as you find a product that you really like, they will stop making it.
19. Doctors' Law - If you don't feel well, make an appointment to go to the doctor, by the time you get there you'll feel better. But don't make an appointment, and you'll stay sick.

When Enough is All You Need
I hope you are having a productive day. I am!!!
I received this today (I decided to have a quick break and cheek my emails. I will be off once I have sent you this - promise!) and HAD TO SHARE IT!
'Recently, I overheard a mother and daughter in their last moments together
at the airport. They had announced the departure. Standing near the security
gate, they hugged, and the mother said,'I love you, and I pray you enough.'
The daughter replied, 'Mom, our life together has been more than enough.Your love is all I ever needed. I pray you enough, too, Mom.'
They kissed, and the daughter left. The mother walked over to the window
where I was seated. Standing there, I could see she wanted and needed to cry.
I tried not to intrude on her privacy, but she welcomed me in by asking, 'Did you
ever say good-bye to someone knowing it would be forever?'
Yes, I have,' I replied. 'Forgive me for asking, but why is this a forever
good-bye?'
'Well...I'm not as young as I once was, she lives so far away & has her own busy life. I have some challenges ahead, and the reality is - her next trip back will be
for my funeral,' she said.
'When you were saying good-bye, I heard you say, 'I pray you enough.' May I ask what that means?'
She began to smile. 'That's a prayer that has been handed down from other generations. My parents used to say it to everyone.' She paused a moment and looked up as if trying to remember it in detail, and she smiled even more. 'When
we said, 'I pray you enough,' we wanted the other person to have a life filled with
just enough good things to sustain them.'
Then, turning toward me, she shared the following as if she were reciting it from memory.
I pray you enough sun to keep your attitude bright no matter how gray the
day may appear.
I pray you enough rain to appreciate the sun even more.
I pray you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive and everlasting.
I pray you enough pain so that even the smallest of joys in life may appear bigger.
I pray you enough gain to satisfy your wanting.
I pray you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess.
I pray you enough hellos to get you through the final good-bye.
Then, she began to cry, and walked away.
They say, it takes a minute to find a special person, an hour to appreciate them,
a day to love them, but an entire life to forget them.'
I PRAY YOU ENOUGH courage to start or continue on your Amazing Race to Entrepreneurial Freedom.
I PRAY YOU ENOUGH discomfort to make the start or the continuation of your Amazing Race to Entrepreneurial Freedom a MUST!!!
I PRAY YOU ENOUGH!!!!
Have an amazing day!

How badly do you want it?
I hope you are enjoying your Easter.
My parents brought me up to believe that if you want something badly enough, that you can see it, taste it, feel it, smell it, it would be yours! This was an extremely powerful belief and growing up, I thought everyone knew that! But as I got older, I realised, that my parents had blessed me and my siblings with this powerful belief!
I came across this today and wanted to share it with you.

Testimonial from Denise Wakeman
How is your Easter break panning out?
I just thought I would share a testimonial for the book with you!
“Georgina Terry has written a book that easily shifts between passion and pragmatism. Terry takes us on a journey akin to training for a marathon, demonstrating that like a 26.2 mile race, you need head, heart and stamina to get to the finish line. I like the pragmatic approach of focusing on what the would-be entrepreneur needs to consider before starting a business. Terry's stories, well-placed quotes and exercises help demonstrate appropriate techniques as well as motivate action. Clearly Georgina Terry has a passion for her subject and the people she aims to train for The Amazing Race to Entrepreneurial Freedom. A must-read for anyone who dreams of owning and operating their own business...before they run their first mile.”

CONCEIVE, BELIEVE and ACHIEVE!
Based on concept in Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill - Through my power to conceive and believe, I was able to achieve!
When studying for my accountancy exams back in 1992, the Virgin group of companies were used as an exemplar in the marketing strategies course. By learning more and more about the group of companies, I decided that I would meet Sir Richard Branson (not sure if he was a Sir back then). Yes DECIDED! I did nor know how or when. I just knew in my heart and soul that I would!
In my book The Amazing Race to Entrepreneurial Freedom, I share with you, how this thought that was conceived and believed was ACHIEVED!
What have you been able to conceive, believe and achieve?

I Stumbled.....but I am up again and moving!
It has been 18 days since I received the proof of my book and guess what?
I have not been focused on getting the final proof reading completed. I was going to do the final proof reading myself but then decided that it needed new eyes!
But I have been very slow in finding the resource to help me do this!
Luckily, I have shared the journey of my first book 'The Amazing Race to Entrepreneurial Freedom' with several of you and therefore I have recently started getting questions like...
'Gina, where is your book?'
'When is the book launch?'
'Where can I get a copy?'
'When will the book be published?'
At first I started to feel embarrassed, as I had not achieved my stated publishing date, but then I looked at the situation differently (my perspective changed!). Rather than feel embarrassed, I am glad people are asking me - it has helped me refocus and gain more energy to reach the final line! My supporters are cheering me on! What a lovely sound!
So, I should have confirmed who will do the final proof reading for me by today and then I will get in contact with the book designer to make the necessary changes, then send the changes to the publishing company and then there will be only about 0.2 miles ( the last strength of the marathon) to complete and then my 'Amazing Race' to publishing my first book will have been achieved!
I feeling really energized again! It feels GREAT!!!
So, what finish line are you be running towards? What can you do to re-energise yourself? Do you need to visualize yourself crossing the line? Do you need to help from your supporters? Do you need to plan you route to the finish line and then just take a step a day?
You are amazing and you can complete your own Amazing Race! Run, walk, crawl, it does not matter, just keep moving! We can stumble and even fall! That is ok. If this happens dust yourself off and then keep moving! That's what I did!

Amazing Opportunities in 2010 - Sir Richard Branson
I am leaving for a business trip to Ghana tomorrow. Several meetings have been arranged. I am also attending the 2010 Opportunities Conference http://www.modernghana.com/news2/261204/1/opportunities-2010-conference-the-big-conversation.html where Sir Richard Branson will be speaking! Sir Richard is one of my entrepreneurial role models!
It is the intention of our team going to Ghana, that we meet and talk to Sir Richard, in order to set up a further meeting with him to discuss some amazing business opportunities. So, I am really excited!
I met Sir Richard in 2006 and we had a quick chat. Meeting him was a great moment in my life, not just having the conversation with him, but it also was a real demonstration of what the power of the mind, passion, vision and unwavering belief can achieve!
The details of my journey to meeting and talking with Sir Richard is included in The Amazing Race to Entrepreneurial Freedom.
For those of you who have attended events where I have presented, you will know the story. For those of you who have not....get the book when it comes out! It is a great story!

Let's All be Coffee
How are you? I am currently working on a business proposal for a NGO to help them develop an operational plan. During my break, I read this and wanted to share it with you.
Carrots, Eggs, and Coffee
A carrot, an egg, and a cup of coffee...You will never look at a cup of coffee the same way again.
A young woman went to her mother and told her about her life and how things were so hard for her She did not know how she was going to make it and wanted to give up, She was tired of fighting and struggling. It seemed as one problem was solved, a new one arose..
Her mother took her to the kitchen.. She filled three pots with water and placed each on a high fire. Soon the pots came to boil.
In the first she placed carrots, in the second she placed eggs, and in the last she placed ground coffee beans . She let them sit and boil; without saying a word.
In about twenty minutes she turned off the burners. She fished the carrots out and placed them in a bowl. She pulled the eggs out and placed them in a bowl. Then she ladled the coffee out and placed it in a bowl.. Turning to her daughter, she asked, "Tell me what you see."
"Carrots, eggs, and coffee," she replied.
Her mother brought her closer and asked her to feel the carrots. She did and noted that they were soft.. The mother then asked the daughter to take an egg and break it. After pulling off the shell, she observed the hard boiled egg.
Finally, the mother asked the daughter to sip the coffee.
The daughter smiled as she tasted its rich aroma. The daughter then asked, "What does it mean, mother?"
Her mother explained that each of these objects had faced the same adversity: boiling water. Each reacted differently. The carrot went in strong, hard, and unrelenting. However, after being subjected to the boiling water, it softened and became weak. The egg had been fragile. Its thin outer shell had protected its liquid interior, but after sitting through the boiling water, its inside became hardened. The ground coffee beans were unique, however.. After they were in the boiling water, they had changed the water.
"Which are you?" she asked her daughter. "When adversity knocks on your door, how do you respond?
Are you a carrot, an egg, or a coffee bean?"
Think of this: Which am I? Am I the carrot that seems strong, but with pain and adversity do I wilt and become soft and lose my strength?
Am I the egg that starts with a malleable heart, but changes with the heat? Did I have a fluid spirit, but after a death, a breakup, a financial hardship or some other trial, have I become hardened and stiff? Does my shell look the same, but on the inside am I bitter and tough with a stiff spirit and hardened heart?
Or am I like the coffee bean? The bean actually changes the hot water, the very circumstance that brings the pain. When the water gets hot, it releases the fragrance and flavor. If you are like the bean, when things are at their worst, you get better and change the situation around you When the hour is the darkest and trials are their greatest do you elevate yourself to another level? How do you handle adversity? Are you a carrot, an egg or a coffee bean?
The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything that comes along their way. The brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past; you can't go forward in life until you let go of your past failures and heartaches.
What do you need to let go of to move yourself and your business forward? What do you have to change perspective, procrastination, environment in order for you to live a 'coffee' filled life?
What one small step can you take to move towards your Amazing Race to Entrepreneurial Freedom?

Are you Ready and Available?
I hope you having or had an amazing weekend!
Today, I went to church for the christening of a dear friend's baby girl.
I must admit, I have not been to church in a while. I remember as a kid, I would not really pay attention to the sermon, but as an adult, when I do go to church, I make a point of really listening and there are some great messages!
Today the priest spoke about 'being ready and available' to do God's work. He said that once we open ourselves up and 'are ready and available' God's grace will help us on that journey. We will acquire what we need, when we need it.
I thought about this in the context of getting ready to start a business. Once you put aside our fear, tap into who you are, connect to your passion, you will be ready and available you we will equipped with what you need to succeed.
The priest when on to say, that when we are ready and available, all we need to say to get started is 'I am Here. The Lord sent me' I thought this was very powerful.
If you have a business idea, that you have been carrying around for a long time, what do you need to do, have in place to be READY and AVAILABLE and have the courage to say ' I AM HERE. THE LORD SENT ME?
I had written down at the beginning of this year during a seminar that I would write a book some day, but I did not really give it much thought. But it seems that I was READY and AVAILABLE, even before I knew I was. When I decided to write The Amazing Race to Entrepreneurial Freedom, it seemed like the most natural thing to do! It feel easy, I accepted the fact that I was ready and available, rather than questioning if I should or got!
Sooooooooooooooooo are you ready and available, if yes, what will you start? Don't fight the feeling, you know the time is now, for your AMAZING RACE TO ENTREPRENEURIAL FREEDOM!

Income Streams
How are you?
When you have a business or better still when you are designing the business consider creating different streams of income. One of the ways I am starting to generate additional income is through speaking events. I will be speaking about 'The Audacity of Passion' in April on a Cruise. http://www.findingdefinitions.com/momcruise
Once you have different streams of income you are diversifying and therefore not only increasing your potential income, but also spreading your risk, by not putting all your eggs in one basket.
Are you still dreaming about your business or your next business venture or have you started your preparation?
If you have congrats, if not, what is stopping you? What one thing can you do today, to move your business or new venture forward? It does not have to be a big step E.g put your thoughts down, make a call to find out some info, contact a potential client, work out your finances, create a list of your skills that will support the business or venture. One small step!

Global Employment Trends - ILO
The number of jobless worldwide reached nearly 212 million in 2009 following an unprecedented increase of 34 million compared to 2007, on the eve of the global crisis, the International Labor Office (ILO) said in its annual Global Employment Trends report. Based on IMF economic forecasts, the ILO estimates that global unemployment is likely to remain high through 2010. In the Developed Economies and European Union unemployment is projected to increase by an additional 3 million people in 2010, while it will stabilize at present levels, or decline only slightly, in other regions. The ILO also said the number of unemployed youth worldwide increased by 10.2 million in 2009 compared to 2007, the largest hike since 1991. At the same time, the ILO report shows wide variations in the employment impact of the crisis between regions and countries as well as in labor market recovery prospects. The report says that coordinated stimulus measures have averted a far greater social and economic catastrophe; yet millions of women and men around the world are still without a job, unemployment benefits or any viable form of social protection. “As the World Economic Forum gathers at Davos, it is clear that avoiding a jobless recovery is the political priority of today” said ILO Director-General Juan Somavia. “We need the same policy decisiveness that saved banks now applied to save and create jobs and livelihoods of people. This can be done through strong convergence of public policies and private investment.”

There are no regrets!
I was supposed to be participating in today's Trinidad marathon, my
first!! But due to my hamstring injury, this was not to be!! This could
have been a very sad day, but it is a great day! 2 weeks I held a
workshop with two associates and this sparked great interest and we
were contacted for an interview with one of Trinidad's
national newspaper for a feature article. The article came out today
and this has made me smile and helped today be a special day full of
great opportunities and possibilities, rather than one of regret!

Opportunities
I saw this today and wanted to share it with you.
"Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work." Thomas Jefferson.
What opportunities did you miss out on in 2009? What will you be doing differently in 2010 to ensure that you take seize all the opportunities that will be made available to you?

New Year....New Behaviours!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!
So, it’s New Year’s resolution time again!!! Or have you given up because they are never achieved?
Have you ever thought about why your New Year’s resolutions are not often achieved? Especially when we have such good intentions:
o Loose weight
o Find a new job
o Change career
o Start a new business
o Get closer to family
o Make more money
o Save more money and the list goes on!!!
So what are we doing wrong?
Are we mad? Possibly!!! Do you know what the definition of madness is? Doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.
How many of us actually think through what behaviours we need to change to achieve these ‘new’ goals?
If for the previous year you have eaten KFC, huge spoonfuls of rice with every meal, snacked on chocolate and chips and exercise only up to Carnival Saturday, why are you surprised you did not loose weight and if you do the same again this year, guess what? The same disappointment you felt this year, will be felt again!! We don’t need a crystal ball to see the outcome!!!
Also, if you intended to save $50,000 for the last year, but you went to all the Carnival fetes, bought clothes, ate out every week and went on vacations, no wonder you have no savings and owe your credit card company $000s.
So what is the answer?
I have found the missing ingredients!!!!!
BEHAVIOURS!!!!!
B old Statements to
E nhance my life
H abits stopped
A nd replaced with new ones
V isible progress leads to
I deal celebrations
O nce the resolutions are made, I need to
U nderstand the role of friends and family who will be
R eliable and supportive and who will help me to
S ucceed
So decide on the behaviours you need to change and let 2010 be your BEST YEAR YET!!!

The layout cover etc will be completed by Christmas eve and the final final editing before publishing completed by 29th December!!

A Slight Set Back
I don't know if any of you have realised that I have not been talking about my marathon training for a while!!
Well, I have pulled my hamstring and therefore have been unable to run!!:(
I rested for a few days, then I ran about two weeks ago, it was fine while I was running, but after I was in pain and it is still painful, even to walk on occasion!!
But I am not letting this get me down. I will still participate in the marathon. I will rest for the Christmas period and come back out again in the new year!
A friend who competed in a marathon shared today, that I can run in the water for 45 mins and this will help to take pressure off my legs, but also allow me to keep training.
What set backs are you working on overcoming?

I just wanted to share with you some feedback I received on the draft manuscript
'The Amazing Race to Entrepreneurial Freedom combines a personal account of the author's experiences regarding entrepreneurship with the essential procedures for starting a business. The book provides readers with motivation to consider changing their lives in a positive way and to look for challenges which will make them more entrepreneurial not only in terms of business but also in other aspects of their life.'

How are you?
I wonder if you can help me please. I have received 3 book cover designs to choose from. Would you be willing to be part of my focus group to deciding on the cover?
If yes, please leave a message on my blog (with your email) or facebook page, so that I can pull together the focus group. I do not want to bombard people who do not have the time or who are not interested, with unnecessary emails re the book cover.

I had a Dilemma
I had a dilemma the other day. One of the chapters in my new book 'The Amazing Race to Entrepreneurial Freedom' mentions Tiger Woods!!
Tiger Woods is actually mentioned in the chapter on Passion!! But here the passion is Golf!!
My dilemma was that, as Tiger Woods is currently in the news for his alleged affairs, should I take him out of my book? Tiger had good a great clean image, but now?
But I decided to keep him in the book. The reason being, my inclusion of Tiger Woods, is about when one connects to their passions they can become profitable and also as talented as Tiger Woods is, he still had a coach. The reason being, he cannot see himself, therefore needs an outside viewpoint of his performance.
Despite what Tiger has or has not done, cannot take away what he has accomplished in the past in golf. So I am keeping him in my book!!
However I am not sure what the future holds, for Tiger or PGA financial projections, as I read that the negative press around Tiger Woods could cost Tiger Woods and PGA millions.

Update
How are you? The book is coming along nicely the first edited manuscript will be ready this weekend!!
I have received 3 designs for the book cover, so I need to review them and provide my feedback to the book designer.
I have sent a few chapters to business associates to read and provide testimonials once the book resonates with them.
I decided to dedicate the book to my mother Merle Guy Terry and my new niece Fallon Terry.
And I have bought the domain name www.theamazingraceforentrepreneurialfreedom.com.
So things are moving, it is getting pretty exciting!
Next week I will need to secure the services of a web designer for the web page and I am still deciding on the wording for the web page or whether I should hire someone to help me! And I need to secure the services of another editor, to read through the full manuscript, to ensure all is well.
I went for a run on Tuesday, which went well, a bit slower than normal 58 mins 22 sec for 5 miles normal time is 54 - 55 minutes. But on Tuesday evening until today, my leg is hurting, it is either a pulled muscle or my hamstring. So I have to rest it. I will go back on Monday. This is annoying but better to rest it now, than do so really bas damage!!
I have not registered for the marathon yet, I have been told that the registration forms are not ready yet!!

Book and Marathon update
How was your weekend? Mine was great. My best friend Brenda is here in Trinidad for 2 weeks, so we have been catching up. We went on a hike with a group called Hikers World and after the hike, they had a little get together (or a lime, as they say in Trinidad), with lots of food and drinks. That was a nice surprise!!
And then yesterday, I went to see my sister Dora and spent some time with my new niece Fallon (who is a wonderful, gorgeous happy baby) and my mother!!
With regards to my first book, The Amazing Race to Entrepreneurial Freedom, I am busy reviewing the chapters and making the final changes!! This is so exciting. The first 13 chapters are ready!!
I secured the services of a great book designer today, who will create the book cover and be responsible for the internal layout of the book. The plan is to have the choices for the book cover by Friday. I might even let you help me choose. Would you like that?
With regards to my marathon training, this is not going so well. I pulled a muscle in my left leg a few days again, but I was still running on it. It hurt to run, but did not hurt when I ran. But I think I aggravated on the hike, so yesterday when I went out for my run, I could not run!!
So I had to walk. I decided to rest my leg today and I will get back out running tomorrow. I only have 48 days until the marathon, so HAVE TO increase my distance running.
What's new with you? How are you processing towards your current goal? I know it is coming to the end of the year, but push yourself right up to the 31 December 2009 finishing line.

Coward or Courageous?
I saw this quote today..... and I love it!
"In the beginning there is not much difference between the coward and the courageous person. The only difference is, the coward listens to his fears and follows them, and the courageous person puts them aside and goes ahead. The courageous person goes into the unknown in spite of all the fears" Osho
So who are you being right now? The coward or the courageous?
If you are the coward, what one thing can you do today, to move you closer to being courageous?

Growing a Home Based Business
How are you today?
Here is the link to recording of an interview I did a few weeks ago on growing a home based business. I had a great time, it was really fun!!
http://www.audioacrobat.
I have been interviewed quite a few times now on television and on radio. Initially I would be really nervous.
What I have realised though, that once you are speaking about something you truly feel passionate and connected to, the words just flow!!
Listen to the show let me know your thoughts.
What are you truly passionate about and is what you do for a living building on your passion?
If not, why not?
When we tap into our passion we stop 'working' and start having lots of fun!!;

I saw this on Kerry George's profile today. I loved it, so I had to share it.

Who do you want to become?
How are you?
A friend sent me this quote, which I love. So I wanted to share it with you.
'If I accept you as you are, I will make you worse; however if I treat you as though you are what you are capable of becoming, I will help you to become that'. Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
But when I started my own company, all I thought about was, I wanted to own my own business. I did not think about being an entrepreneur!!
I am glad to say that I am now focusing on being an amazing entrepreneur, that provides outstanding quality and service to all the people I meet.
But that is only one part of me - that is the external!! The person I am becoming inside, includes being courageous, loving, friendly, accepting, risk taking, joyous, silly, fun, funny and grateful.
Who do you want to become, both inside and out?

Making Work become Play

How does 2 +4 = 240?
How are you?
So do you know the answer? The answer is -
When 2 friends are trying to film 4 minutes of video, that takes 4 hours(i.e. 240 minutes)!!! Sorry, it's the accountant in me, number love to show up from time to time.
Yes, that right!! I was filming a few videos clips for my new website. It was fun. We had to do so many takes, we just kept laughing. At I point, I even forgot what my name was.....My name is....?
I kept some of the outtakes and I will share them with you later on.
We really had fun with the process. I now have even more admiration for actors who have to do 2 hour films!!
Once the site is up, I will send you the link.
The important lesson for me was to enjoy the process. Even though it took a long time, we made the work fun, so it felt like play. So we enjoyed ourselves, we were not frustrated, we laughed etc.
So how will you make what you are doing today fun, so that it feels effortless and enjoyable?

Nine Ways to Achieve Extraordinary Performance in your Team
by Georgina Terry
Effective teamwork is essential to your organization’s performance.
There are many teamwork definitions, but this is one of my favourites:
‘A tight knit group of competent individuals who care deeply about each other. They are fiercely committed to their mission, and are highly motivated to combing their energy and expertise to achieve a common objective.’
Are you part of a great team?
If you said yes, what makes your team great? What is your contribution to the team’s success? What outstanding results have you been able to achieve together?
If you said no, what are YOU doing that is stopping the team from being great? Yes, we all contribute to our current situations.
Working with a great group of people, creating an amazing bond and achieving great results, is a wonderful feeling.
There are certain qualities that a high performing team exhibits that will enable you to achieve great things. Below are nine fundamental behaviours that can help your team achieve extraordinary results.
1. Totally committed to each other and your overall goal
2. Curious before critical
3. Focused on the hope of success
4. Embrace people for what they bring to the team
5. Everyone accepts responsibly for all that happens – there is a ‘we’ mentality
6. Hire the inspired or inspire the hired
7. There is no room for egos
8. The appropriate leadership style is found to fit the current situation
9. The ‘leader’ in each person is given space to be ‘step up’
Which behaviours does you team already possess? When was the last time you saw these being demonstrated?
And which elements does your team need to demonstrate more on?
What more could your team achieve, if you were consistently demonstrating these behaviours? What would it feel like to work together like this? What would others say about your team?
By having faith and trust in each other, ordinary people can achieve extraordinary things!!!

Challenges are Opportunities in Disguise
Have you missed me!!!
I have been hibernating for a while, working through the challenges that this recession has sent my way.
But I have now really come to realize (I say 'really' realize, because I thought I knew before, but didn't fully), that our challenges are really our opportunities in disguise!!
The impact of this current economic climate on me and my businesses is really rewarding!!
I have been rebranding myself, developing gifts for clients, creating new products and services, increasing my technology knowledge and reassessing my business priorities.
For one of my businesses, my business partner and I realised that we had strayed from our core service and this was hurting the overall business and draining our profits.
So we took the decision to let go of the lost making part of the business and concentrate on the core business and since then our business is back on course.
I can honestly say, it has been a refreshing, rewarding, rebirthing and humbling experience, that is allowing me to gain greater strength, clarity, passion and purpose.
What opportunities has this current economic climate brought to you?

Catching the Train
How are you?
I just wanted to share something with you.
I was in Philadelphia for a business meeting on Monday and when I was dropped off at the train station. I realised I was on the wrong platform.
I could see the train in the distance!! I was given instructions on how to get across by fellow travellers!!
I had a really heavy overnight bag, plus I only had 5 hours sleep in two days, so I was really knackered (tired).
I picked up my bag and started to run. As I ran down the platform, the train pulled in and I still had not crossed over. I found energy and strength from within and ran even faster.
Just I approached the stairs, the train conductor said to me, just little bit longer, you are almost there'
I got on the train breathless, but happy, I had made it!!
When I got on the train one of the passengers looked up and said...'You are really lucky, he waited for you, they don't usually do that'.
I said to her...'The world is changing for the better each and everyday'.
I thanked the train conductor when he came to collect payment for my ticket and I made sure, I thanked him again, when I got to my stop.
When I saw the train and decided I was going to do all I could to get it. I could have told myself, 'I won't make it or I'll wait for the next one or He won't wait for me etc' But I didn't I just got going!!
What areas in your life are you catching your 'train'?
What areas of your life are you letting the 'train' go, only to realise that you missed a great opportunity and no one knows when the next 'train' is coming?
What can you do to catch your 'train in life'? What do you need to believe to catch your 'train' to have the life you really deserve and desire?

We Love you Michael!!!
I am sure like you, I could not believe the news I heard today....Michael Jackson is dead!!
I felt and feel so sad.
I told someone the news and their respond was 'how sad. I wonder if he will die, like Elvis died'. On hearing this, at first I was a bit annoyed, as I thought this is about Michael, not Elvis.
But now, that I have had time to reflect, this was a great thing to say, that Michael will live on within us forever. He gave us so much. He is part of our childhood, part of our lives and memories across the globe. His songs bring back several memories from my past. I was blessed to have seen Michael in concert twice.
Events like this remind me to enjoy life, enjoy everyday and to do the best I can do everyday, as we do not know when it will be our time.
I hope that Michael, now has found the peace that he was searching for.
We love you Michael!!!

Dare to Dream
I am currently at a Leadership Seminar and I heard this great quote from Joesph McClendon III. I am not sure if the quote is originally his, but he quoted it yesterday.
'Those of us who dare to dream while the rest are having a nightmare, stand to inherit prosperity and will lead the world to greatness.'
I thought this quote was sooooooooooooooooooooo powerful!!
Do you dare to dream? Has your dream turned into a vision, that you can feel, touch, smell? Share your vision with someone, let it start to take form and come alive.

If you could turn back time, what event would you change?
How are you?
I just read this and I wanted to share this with you.
'God doesn't give you the people you want, He gives you the people you NEED - To help you, to hurt you, to leave you, to love you and to make you into the person you were meant to be.'
I was watching a movie a few weeks ago '13 going on 30' with Jennifer Garner. The story is of a 13 year old girl, who wakes up and is 30!!!
At first she is loving being older, being able to drink, can go out on a school night and she has boobs!!!
But after a while, she gets to see her life and is not too happy with the person she has become.
She goes to visit her parents (she has not seen them for ages) and asks her mother - 'If you could turn back time, what would you change?' Her mum answers 'nothing', as the events have made her who she is today.
Since seeing this movie, I have asked a few people, what they would change and after some thought, they have answered the same thing, 'nothing'.
I reflected on the question myself and first I thought of at least three major (challenging) events, I would like to change, but after deeper thought, I realised, I too, would not change anything, because those events have made me soooooooooooooooooooooooooo much stronger and made me a better person.
I'll share one with you....getting divorced. Going through my separation and divorce, was heart wrenching at the time, but I became more independent, more adaptive to change and alot more courageous in life. Also this started me on the journey of learning to love myself. PRICELESS LEARNINGS!!!
What have you learnt from your most challenging events? How have they made you stronger?

Challenges
How are you?
Can you believe that it is the 1st of June already?
How is this year treating you?
It has been a very interesting year for me so far. I went into a slump for abit, 'why didn't I do this before? 'Why did I waste so much time etc etc.' As much as it was a painful period, I am glad I went through it. I am now refocused and using my time more effectively to meet my goals!!!
So, what is your number one challenge at the moment? What is keeping you up at night?
I would love to hear from you.
I have written my first two articles!!! That will be published shortly and once I know what is on your mind, I can write articles that can help you too.
Bye for now.

How do you really learn?
How are you?
During a coaching session with a client this week, he reflected on the following:
We learn many things over time (from books, lectures, presenters, TV etc) and then we feel we know the subject. But when you actually experience something, this is when you truly KNOW and have truly learnt, what it is all about. And this is where the wisdom is formed.
What are your thoughts?

Strength or Weakness?
What have you been up to?
I have been really busy in development mode!!! I have been working on my business, rather than in my business (as advised by Michael Gerber from E-Myth).
I have teamed up with a couple of people. We have been working hard on developing our website and creating a survey to send to business owners to understand their thoughts and feelings during this economic climate.
The site will be up in the next few days and I will post a link. It would really appreciate your support in the form of feedback.
This has been a very interesting process....Three strong willed persons working together, wanting to ensure a great product is created. It has been another great learning process for me.
If you heard about StrengthsFinder 2.0 http://www.strengthsfinder.com, you will know that it is an on line assessment created by Gallup. The results from the assessment give you your top 5 talents (your signature theme). These are the top 5 talents you were born with.
It is a great tool, all my clients when they start working with me, take the assessment and it really helps them to understand themselves better and they also have a recipe to help them accelerate their performance.
My top talent is Activator. This is someone who wants things done like yesterday!!! The Activator talent is all about action!!
Once you know your top 5 talents, the purpose is to develop them into strengths (through knowledge and skill).
My Activator is a great talent for moving things forward, but the flip side to this, is that I can be very impatient. Our greatest talents can be our greatest weakness, if we do not turn it into a strength. And I can especially see this coming to the forefront re the launching of the website!!
My top 5 talents are:
Activator - All about action
Relator -Enjoy close relationships with others. Enjoys working with friends to achieve their goals
Individualisation - Intrigued by the unique qualities in people
Achiever - Great deal of stamina and work hard
Focus - Prioritise then act
If you have taken the assessment, please share your top 5 talents.
Bye for now.

Are you an Expert - but don't know it yet?
I received a link to a great webinar on how to become 'a highly paid Expert' hosted by Brendon Burchard http://www.expertsacademy.com/tony.
Brendon explains the approach in very simple and practical tips. Check it out quickly, as I believe that the site will only be around until tomorrow.
Brendon's definition of an expert is 'a credible authority, who defines what to pay attention to, what things mean, how things work and how they might turn out - a informed person who gets highly paid for their insights'
What could you be/ are you an expert in?
Remember to check out the link asap.

Committed Heart
I received this today and I wanted to share it with you.
It is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo true.
“Most people fail at whatever they attempt because of an undecided heart. Should I? Should I not? Go forward? Go back? Success requires the emotional balance of a committed heart. When confronted with a challenge the committed heart will search for a solution. The undecided heart searches for an escape.” - The Traveler’s Gift by Andy Andrews
Put another way, when you find your true passion (when you are connected to your soul/ or life purpose) and allow yourself to trust yourself, you will succeed.
