My 'Baby' is Standing. Soon she will be Walking!

Hi Everyone,

How are you?

Just wanted to share that my web designer and I met this week and we are working on my new www.passionstoprofitability.com website. At the moment passions to profitability is just a page. Over the next few months, 'she' will grow into a website. This is so exciting!

As my book The Anmazing Race to Entrepreneurial Freedom is ready! Yes, my book is ready! YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. In a few weeks, it will be available on Amazon too!

As friends, family, clients, workshop participants are all excited about reading my book The Amazing Race to Entrepreneurial Freedom, the web designer and I will focus on the book page first, so you can order the book! This should be ready by the end of August!

The journey of writing, editing, and publishing my book has been Amazing! It's taken longer than I thought it would (I always want things done yesterday). I now realise it has taken the time it was supposed to! (My 'baby' was crawling - no baby just gets up and starts to run right away!)

(A slight detour - My sister Dora recently had a baby, my niece Fallon. Fallon is now 10 months old and I have watched how she started to crawl (backwards at first), and then started to have confidence to stand and now is being adventurous in walking, as she holds on anything she can to steady herself). Watching her has reminded me, that things take time and there is a process!

I will be sending you progress reports, as my 'baby' The Amazing Race to Entrepreneurial Freedom progresses from crawling and starts to get ready to take her first steps!

Bye for now

What light will you create for people to search for?

Hi,

I just read this beautiful story posted by Michael on LinkedIn

It’s from a book called “Jacob the Baker: Gentle Wisdom for a Complicated World” by Noah ben Shea. What a GREAT title!

It’s about a “simple” baker who leaves little stories for people to find in the bread he bakes. Anyway, one of the stories is called, “Death is Also a Door”
Here it is:

Two children who had become dependent on Jacob, were concerned about what they would do as he grew older and one day died.
Jacob, sensing this, drew the children near and told them this story:

“Once there was a student who was with a teacher for many years. And, when the teacher felt he was going to die, he wanted to make even his death a lesson.

That night, the teacher took a torch, called his student, and set off with him through the forest.
“Soon they reached the middle of the woods where the teacher extinguished the torch, without explanation.

“’What is the matter?’ asked the student.
“This torch has gone out,’ the teacher answered and walked on.
“‘But,’ shouted the student, his voice plucking his fear, ‘will you leave me here in the dark?’
“‘No!’ I will not leave you in the dark,’ returned his teacher’s voice from the surrounding blackness. ‘I will leave you searching for the light.’”

In your amazing race, what light will you create for people to search for?

The Power of Words

Hi,

I hope you like poetry. This poem expresses for me when we are at peace with ourselves, know our abilities and trust ourselves to follow our dreams.

'The time will come when, with elation you will greet yourself arriving at your own door, in your own mirror and each will smile at the other's welcome, and say, sit here. Eat. You will love again the stranger who was your self. Give wine. Give bread. Give back your heart to itself, to the stranger who has loved you all your life, whom you ignored for another, who knows you by heart. Take down the love letters from the bookshelf, the photographs, the desperate notes, peel your own image from the mirror. Sit. Feast on your life' Love After Love Derek Walcott

Does this resonate with you?

You will feel like this as you embark on your amazing race!

Interview with a Successful Entrepreneur

Hello,

How was your weekend?

I had a great time. Had a business meeting and a coaching client on Saturday during the day and in the evening visited my sister and my lovely niece.

Sunday visited my sister again and then I watched world cup final.

Last week I attended a live interview with a successful Trinidadian entrepreneur Arthur Lok Jack (see bio http://www.nalis.gov.tt/Biography/ArthurLokJack.htm) and I thought I would share with you a summary of the information received at the event - over the next few days.

There are 2 ways to grow a business: Organic and Inorganic Growth

Organic Growth

- Increasing your top line (revenue/sales): through increasing your market share in existing markets - either finding new customers and/or selling more to existing clients

- Business growth: Introducing new products, going into new markets

Inorganic Growth

- Through mergers and acquisitions (M&A)

M&A help you to have rapid growth, as purchasing/joining with an existing business with existing clients.

A quote from today is

“A life without mistakes is lived without joy.”

Stop Shoulding All Over Yourself!

Hi,

I was recently listening to an Anthony Robbins CD, who stated 'Stop Shoulding all over yourself!' and I wanted to share the following thoughts with you......

I believe everyone wants to live a life that they deserve and desire, no matter the gender.

We all have choices, even if the choice is to do nothing. People need to stop blaming other people for what is happening to them.

Most people will do more to avoid pain, than to obtain pleasure.

When we make something a MUST, rather than a SHOULD. We act differently, we take charge of our lives or the situation and we make change happen.

So True!!!!!!!!

Hi,

How are you?

I can't remember where I read this, but I love it!!!

'You never know how strong you are, until being strong is the only choice you have!'

Can you relate to this? I surely can.

Whose Life are you Planning?

Hi,

Here's a great quote from Mia Reddick, the Mom Strategist, a dear friend and business associate....

"Are you spending your time evaluating, living and planning your own life? Or, evaluating, living and planning the lives of others? The choice is yours?"

Did that make you sit up?

OK, so what choice are you making? The only lives you can change is your our OWN!!!!

So stop wasting time and put your energies into your own Amazing Race!

I love it when a plan comes together!

Hi,

I hope you had a great weekend, I did! I spent the weekend in Tobago, where I took the time to read, relax, reflect, hang out with friends.

As the weekend progressed my mind became freer and freer, so many ideas came to me, so clear and vivid, that I had to capture them (scribbling so fast and intently, my boyfriend Dereck, asked 'what are you writing?')

Ideas and concepts that were previously disjointed all came together, at last my vision was complete and the major milestones along the path! - the dots were all connected, it was/is an amazing feeling!

I could/can clearly see the future, fulfilling my purpose in this life - how I am to help people create the life of abundance that they deserve and desire, to turn their passions into profits, to make an impact that will positively impact generations to come.

I felt and feel truly blessed to be given this role in this life!

One of aha moments came from reading the book the Tipping Point - by Malcolm Gladwell. Reading it 'tipped' me!

I have to thank Donna Price for my reading this book. Donna has started an Entrepreneurs Book Club on Facebook and the Tipping Point was the book chosen for discussion.

I have had this book for 4 years and had not read it (I love to buy books and buy faster than I read) until this weekend. I could not put it down! I finished it.

Once you have a vision or intention, you will see opportunities around you soooooooooooo clearly, but you must have at least part of the vision, to know that what is available to you can help you on the road to success.

If I did not have part of my vision crafted, I would have missed the cues in the Tipping Point.

I know I am rambling... so what am I sharing with you...............

1. Spend the time to visualise the life and business you want to create, really believe it, see it, smell it.

2. Create an action list of things you can do this week, to start or move along your own amazing race to entrepreneurial freedom.

3. Read the Tipping Point, it is an Amazing Book.

4. Join the Donna's book club discussion see call im details on facebook page- Entrepreneur's Book Club

"My' Quote of the Day

Hi,

I was just writing to someone and I was inspired to write this.....

'Once you make a decision, the universe has a way of making it happen! So do your part - make the decision, believe it is possible, feel the passion, create the vision and take action as the opportunities flow towards you!' - Georgina Terry

Sooooooooooooooo what are you waiting for?

Some great advice!

Hi,

'Take a minute to write that statement down and put it up where you can see it every day, make it a point to say it out loud each and every morning and see the difference it makes in your day when you say it with conviction and purpose.'

Are you really comfortable?

Hi Everyone,

How are you today?

I was thinking about comfort zones today and pondering are they really comfortable?

I love poetry (I did English literature A level at school), so I looked for a poem on the subject. I liked this one.

MY COMFORT ZONE
By Author Unknown
I used to have a comfort zone where I knew I wouldn't fail.
The same four walls and busywork were really more like jail.
I longed so much to do the things I'd never done before,
But stayed inside my comfort zone and paced the same old floor.
I said it didn't matter that I wasn't doing much.
I said I didn't care for things like commission checks and such.
I claimed to be so busy with the things inside the zone,
But deep inside I longed for something special of my own.

What are you longing for? What one thing can/will you do to turn the key of your comfort zone jail cell and to start or continue on your amazing race?

What is your Passion?

Hi Everyone,

For those of you who know me, will know that I think it is really important to find your passion in life!

I thoroughly believe that 'once you find your passion, you will never work again, as work will be PLAY!'

I came across this and thought you might be interested in this as it may help you find your passion.

It starts with a Dream!

Hi Everyone,

For those of you who have been with me for a while, will know that I really believe that dreaming is a really important component in achieving the life you deserve and desire.

Visualization is extremely powerful, it brings clarity, passion, belief all together. One of the first things I do with my coaching clients, is to have them visualize what they want in 5, 10, etc years.

They normally start off uncertain and then slowly the words and ideas start to flow, they start to smile and their body relax as they become more immersed in their thoughts and feelings.

It is wonderful to watch, as they allow themselves to see, feel and understand what they truly want for their lives (career, romance, business etc)

What are you dreaming about? Do you want it to be a reality or just a dream? Believe that it will be a reality!

If you want it to be a reality, what one thing can you do tomorrow, to get you closer to the dream? It can be something small, e.g. make a call, do some research, put your ideas down on paper, create your vision board etc.

Do something, take the first step!

I was sent this great video last week, so I wanted to share it with you. Enjoy!

It's YOUR Race - So set your pace and get going!

Hi Everyone,

How are you today?

Received this great quote from a dear friend and business associate, Claudine Struck:

'Life is not a race against other people. It is a one man race. You determine the destination, the route, the time limits and the prize. We are all running a different race.'

The whole concept for my book, 'The Amazing Race to Entrepreneurial Freedom', is that you are racing/moving towards your own goal(s), not competing against anyone else.

What beliefs are holding you back right now - FEAR of failure, success, embarrassment, security? How is this fear standing in your way of the amazing life you desire and deserve?

Imagine yourself at the end of your amazing race, what would your life be like, how would you feel, what do you see around you, how different would your life be? Hold this vision, thoughts, feelings, put yourself there in the future and then decide on your next step and commit to making that step by Friday.

It does matter where you are on your journey, dreaming/idea stage; at the starting line; part way through or nearing the finish line? Wherever you are what one action can you take by the end of the week, to move you closer to your goal?

It's all for the taking, you just have to tap into your passion, vision, empowering beliefs, commitment to your action and then ACT!

Get moving...I am here to support you!

Let it go, before it causes you stress and strain!

Hi everyone,

I wanted to share this with you.

'A professor begins his class by holding up a glass with some water in it for all to see. He asks the students, "How much do you think this glass weighs?"

'50gms!' '100gms!' '125gms' students answer.

1.3393757096

"I don't know unless I weigh it," the professor replies, "but, my question is:
What happens if I hold it up like this for a few minutes?"

'Nothing' ...the students say.

'What happens if I hold it up like this for an hour?' the professor asks.

'Your arm will begin to ache' says one student.

"You're right. What happens if I hold it for a day?"

"Your arm may go numb, you may get severe muscle stress & paralysis & have to go to the hospital!"
ventures another student. The other students laugh.

"Very good," the professor says. "But during all this, would the weight of the glass change?"

'No' they all reply.

"Then what causes the arm ache & the muscle stress?"

The students are puzzled.

"What could I do to relieve the pain?" asks professor.

"Put the glass down!" yells one student.

"Exactly!" says the professor.

"Life's problems go something like this: Hold them for a few minutes in your head & they seem OK. Think of them for a long time & they begin to ache. Hold them even longer & they begin to paralyze you. You will unable to do anything."

"It's important to think of the challenges or problems in your life, but EVEN MORE IMPORTANT is to 'PUT THEM DOWN' at the end of every day before you go to sleep!"

"That way, you are stress free, you wake up every day fresh & strong, able to handle any issue, any challenges that comes your way. So, when you leave office today...Remember my friends...
PUT THE GLASS DOWN!"

I have had quite a few revelations in the pass few weeks and one of the things I have to put down is 'control'. Trying to control situations is actually stopping me from completing my amazing race!

What do you need to put down, RIGHT NOW, to continue on your amazing race?
